Updated Bounds on Axion‐Like Particle Dark Matter with the Optical MUSE‐Faint Survey
نویسندگان
چکیده
Bounds are derived on the axion-like particle (ALP) to two-photon coupling in mass range 2.65 − 5.27 eV. The bounds obtained by searching for signal from ALP decay Multi Unit Spectroscopic Explorer (MUSE) observations of five dwarf spheroidal galaxies, under assumption that ALPs constitute dark matter component haloes. These same order and improve robustness those Regis et al., (2021), currently represent strongest within considered range.

متن کاملBounds on Light Dark Matter
The nature of Dark Matter (DM) is one of the most intriguing questions of modern physics. Its resolution would have a profound impact on the development of particle physics beyond its Standard Model (SM). Although the possibility of having massive compact halo objects (MACHOs) as a dominant form of DM is still under debates (see recent discussion in [1] and references therein), it is widely bel...
متن کاملSearching for decaying axionlike dark matter from clusters of galaxies.
We constrain the lifetime of radiatively decaying dark matter in clusters of galaxies inspired by generic Kaluza-Klein axions, which have been invoked as a possible explanation for the solar coronal x-ray emission. These particles can be produced inside stars and remain confined by the gravitational potential of clusters. By analyzing x-ray observations of merging clusters, where gravitational ...

متن کاملParticle Dark Matter
There is plenty of evidence that most matter in the universe is dark (non–luminous). Particle physics offers several possible explanations. In this talk I focus on cold dark matter; the most promising candidates are then axions and the lightest supersymmetric particle. I briefly summarize estimates for the present relic density of these particles, and describe efforts to detect them. To appear ...
